WOOD TYPE
   WOOD FINISH
Stain Selection Tip: The natural variations in each wood species will affect the final finish appearance as will exposure to light, temperature change and environmental elements. In addition printed materials and computer monitor settings may inadvertently alter the true color of a finish.
We recommend when choosing a finish you view a representative sample of your selection with your Design Professional to ensure you are comfortable with your decision.
Finishing Process
Mid Continent Cabinetry's finishing process involves multiple coats of stain followed by an application of a catalyzed sealer and catalyzed top coat. The oven curing process between each application ensures a furniture-quality surface that will provide durability as well as beauty to your cabinetry
Premium Glaze Finish
Glazing is a technique that applies a thin color coating over the top of a base stain. The glaze is applied to the wood cabinet component, allowed to rest and then hand wiped off. The application of the glaze not only modifies the base stain color, but highlights the profile areas and variations in the wood. The true beauty of glazing is the result of combining each unique and individualized piece together into a complete design. Because the application of glaze is specific to door types, species and base stain color, Mid Continent Cabinetry offers this option on selected styles only, in the Signature and Norcraft Cabinetry Series.
Glaze Selection Tip: The art of glazing results in each piece being unique and individualized. When choosing glazing please understand that each cabinetry component will have a finish appearance that is slightly different from the next. Glazing over lighter stains will result in more noticeable variation than over darker base stain colors.
DOOR STYLE
 |
Square Design - The Square Door Style is a basic design. The stiles and rails are combined around a center panel creating a door for any cabinetry need. Variations to the center panel, overlay, edging profile and species result in over 47 door style offerings. Complementing Drawer Fronts are found on base and vanity cabinetry. |
 |
Arch Design - The Arch Door Style option creates interest, detail and points of differentiation in a design. Available on Wall and Vanity cabinetry only, the overlay, center panel and edging profiles match the corresponding square door design with the only change being to an arched top rail |
Overlay
On framed cabinetry overlay refers to the area in which the door and drawer cover the face frame. Mid Continent Cabinetry offers two overlay options on a variety of door styles.
 |
Standard 1/2" Overlay - When the door and drawer are mounted on the cabinet the face frame will be visible. |
 |
Full 1 1/4" Overlay The stiles and rails of the door are wider and the Drawer Fronts larger resulting in minimal visibility of the face frame. The look is similar to that of frameless cabinetry. |
Center panel
Refers to the panel in the center of the door which can be raised or recessed. Mid Continent Cabinetry offers a variety of panel options noted by style to include; Veneer, Solid Wood (CPO) and Rustic Hickory.
